about
This song spent so many months in my projects folder without being touched that I had forgotten about it. I was hoping to find someone who was better at the screamy metal stuff in the chorus but it was difficult to get anyone to come and do them so I made the decision to do it over and over again myself until I was happy with them.
What you hear is a song composed and performed entirely by me in my basement studio. I hope you enjoy it.
lyrics
Through the darkness of the night
Hanging lanterns that are blowing in the wind
I see my shadow in the light
Moving my feet but standing still
Leaning back against the wall
Watching everyone get smaller by the day
Stuck inside this prison wall
I've built this place just for myself
My sanity is wearing thinner by the day
I cannot heed this path of entropy and decay
My weakened hands reach for the sun
But my fragility my future has become
Desolate wastelands fill my view
The sadness calls me with each labored breath I take
Is this illusion or my fate?
The sands of time erase the path
